Kalen, I’m honestly concerned about the approach that Magento has been taking recently; for what I can see they are taking the approach of using acquisitions to add new features instead of doing that development work in-house.

Acquisitions alone are not a problem, but when they become the primary driver of innovation for a platform; that’s a scary thought.

For what I can see Magento is at the moment overwhelmed trying to keep up with bug fixes and stability and simply doesn’t have the bandwidth to work on new features.

I’m also concerned on how the integrations with the platform will be done.

And while there is a lot of good things in M2, we also have to recognize there are many things that are not working as expected.
