I disagree, there has to be a degree of accountability to our work. Saying I’ll be done when its done is not a valid answer on any industry.
Estimates are not deadlines, there is a level of uncertainty and assumptions made when providing estimates, if your managers or leads are planning directly based on estimates and not providing enough leg room for unforeseen issues then thats the problem.
